Alistair D. Stevenson

Alistair D. Stevenson is from Bahamas. During his nine years in China, Stevenson received his Bachelor’s Degree from Jingdezhen Ceramic University and Master’s Degree from the Central Academy of Fine Arts while gaining academic proficiency in Mandarin language. He is a vibrant, driven visual artist with a passion for educating people in Ceramics and Sculpture. During his artistic career, Stevenson has exhibited internationally while maintaining an established presence in the Bahamian art community via annual solo exhibitions. His work has also led to him participating in international artist residencies where he also exhibited his artwork. Being an active member of the Bahamian art community, he also worked as a curator in The Bahamas having organized a number of well-accredited art exhibitions there. Stevenson’s professionalism as an artist and being a strong advocate for cultural research and development led him to becoming a representative of The Bahamas having participated in several UNESCO Creative Cities events and sub-network meetings held within Asia. The style of his artwork is one which combines western conceptual approaches to art combined with many elements of Chinese aesthetic sensibility addressing themes which reflect on the relationship of humanity with nature and society itself.
